Finally. I’ve been waiting all my life and it finally happened. I met John O’Callaghan.
So here’s how it all went down:
My friends and I, being the hardcore The Maine fangirls that we are, started waiting in line at 10am for their concert at the Varsity Theater in Minneapolis last Friday. Suddenly, we see this big tour bus. All of us were doubtful that the band would be in that tour bus, let alone outside it. We decided it would be a good idea to just walk by there and make sure. We weren’t expecting the delight that we would soon experience. At first, we saw nobody near the bus, but as quickly as we were about to walk away, out pops the man I have had google eyes over since 2008. There stood John O’Callaghan himself, shirtless and as sexy as he is in pictures. We recognized him immediately by that legendary chest tattoo, and everybody decided to elect me to speak to him, as I am apparently the least awkward of our group of friends. As we giddily approached this magnificent human being, I was mentally reciting what I was going to say to him. However, when I was standing less than 4 feet away from him, I CHOKED. It was as though my tongue swelled up and I could no longer formulate intelligible speech. Luckily, my friend stepped in, and we asked if we could get a picture. The voice that responded was one I would recognize anywhere. I swear, his voice is the epitome of sex appeal. He put his arm around me, not in one of those “get off me you creepy fangirl” poses, but a legitimate grasp around my waist that really made me believe he genuinely cares about his fans. We took the picture, and within minutes, he had disappeared back into his tour bus. As soon as we turned the corner out of sight, I started sobbing uncontrollably. I think that holds the position as the best moment of my entire life.
